Excellent 2010 Sales Returns For Highview Sires

03 March 2010

The 2010 Karaka Yearling Sales series provided excellent returns for breeders who sold progeny of Highview Stud stallions Danroad and Align through the ring.

Both stallions achieved an average price per yearling of approximately five times their 2007 service fee.

The average price paid for Danroad’s progeny was 4.9 times his 2007 service fee while the average price paid for Align’s progeny was 5.1 times his service fee for 2007.

“It meant the broodmare owners who supported the Highview stallions achieved very good returns on their service fees,” said Highview Stud manager Brent Gillovic.

The top price for one of Danroad’s progeny was $85,000 for the colt ex  It’s Spring Again who was sold by Highview. This colt is a half-brother to the three-time Listed Sydney winner Moti.

The top-priced Align yearling sold was the colt ex Fledged  - a brother to Group 1 ARC Diamond Stakes winner Fully Fledged - who fetched $150,000 who was sold by Cambridge Stud and purchased by champion Singapore trainer Laurie Laxon.

Highview Stud will be announcing this year’s service fees for Danroad and Align in mid-March.  Once again broodmare owners can rest assured that the fees will represent great value for money.
