Highview Stud’s evergreen sire Kashani has again made the top 10 sires list in Singapore for the season just completed.
Kashani finished in 10th place on the sires’ table in Singapore this year with strongly represented with S$687,720 in earnings and with seven individual winners.
Kashani’s best performer for 2008 was Guru Glee, a three time winner who was a medal candidate on eight occasions during the season.
Brent Gillovic of Highview Stud said the achievement by Kashani in Singapore was another example of his proven record as a sire to keep leaving winners.
“He might be in the twilight of his career as a stallion but he has had another very solid year in 2008, particularly in Asia,” Gillovic said. “His progeny have a terrific record in Singapore and he has made the top 10 sires’ list there before.”
“He turns 19 on January 1 but looks terrific and nowhere near his age,” he said.
“He has been a great servant of the New Zealand breeding industry over a long period and is a wonderful upgrader of his mares. He offers breeders great value for those wanting to breed a genuine racehorse with very little outlay,” Gillovic said.
Latest statistics from Arion Pedigrees show that Kashani is the sire of 224 individual winners. These include 12 individual stakes winners. He has been represented by winners in nine different countries.
