Invader's Sires' Group 1 Success Borne Out Of Highview

Invader's Group 1 victory in the Inglis Sires' (registered as ATC Sires Produce Stakes) over 1,400m at Randwick virtually guaranteed him the status of "Champion Australian 2YO Colt" for the current racing season; the trappings of a sparkling stud career will no doubt follow.

Raced by the influential China Horse Club and sired by the amazing Snitzel, Invader proved comfortably superior in one of the two 'majors' for Australian youngsters - a stone bruise had prevented him from competing in the Golden Slipper.

His rise to Champion 2YO Colt started here at Highview Stud in the Waikato, with the decision to import Plans Awry (a mare by Topsider) from the United States in 1987. She has amassed an impressive broodmare CV with ten winners from eleven foals to race.  Amongst these winners was What Can I Say who was a Group 2 winner of the Warwick Stakes and whose line has produced the Group performers Only Words (2*Grp1 wins, 1*Grp1 2nd) and Darci Be Good (1*Grp3 win, 1* Grp1 2nd).

One of her offspring, Flame of Atlanta (Encosta De Lago) has had seven foals to race for seven winners including the multiple Group performed Flame of Sydney, she in turn is the dam of Invader.  Flame of Sydney was Group 2 placed in the Sandown Guineas and Kewney Stakes.
Plans Awry has clearly left a legacy of a dam line that produces quality winners in Australasia; of which Invader is the latest.

PS:
We have multiple young offspring from a daughter of Flame of Sydney available for sale/lease from the farm; AND
We sold three Snitzel yearlings out of our broodmare band at Karaka 2017 - might be worth following?? #blackbookers
