Ruthless Agent Now Three From Three

Ruthless Agent convincingly won his third race from as many starts on 6th January, to keep the Bullbars flag flying high across the Tasman.

Winning your first three starts is a difficult assignment that few horses achieve; however Ruthless Agent has done it showing end of race acceleration that suggests that further wins are in store.

Bred by Highview Stud, Ruthless Agent was sold for $55,000 at the 2015 Karaka Premier Sale to Australian Bloodstock.  His dam is Starnet, a Last Tycoon mare who had previously produced the talented Queensland galloper Dances on Stars (Snitzel).

Ruthless Agent trained by Kurt Goldman and ridden by Mitchell Bell stepped up to 1,300m at Canberra (his first two victories we over 1,200m), despite being slow away was victorious by a half-length.  His jockey noted after the race "He had to work a bit today but I was pretty confident once we straightened, I spotted our dangers and thought I had the wood on them and it turned out he did, it was a good effort.  He's still got to go through his grades but he'll go to town, for sure."

Goldman has adopted a patient approach with Ruthless Agent; his debut was as a three-year-old, but this appears to be paying dividends now.

A name for the black book!
